Explanation

This a personal blog, primarily for my own enjoyment and to satisfy the need and desire to write — observations, thoughts, questions, reviews, etc.  I think this would be a good place also to write about travels, hikes, and similar excursions.  Very few people will probably read these posts, but a web-based journal sounds like fun.  If you have stumbled upon it and decide to read more, I hope you enjoy this blog.

  3. I stumbled onto your post about the Moricani shop and spoke with Jean Helfer, just as you did. What a fascinating fellow, and thanks for posting the photo of him. I was so stunned I forgot to photograph anything except the pictures pinned to the back wall of famous writers.

    I write a blog, the latest of which is about Sylvia Beach and the origins of Shakespeare and Co which I wrote before I saw your post. Would you be so kind as to give me permission to use your photo of Helfer if I give credit to your site?
